This is why many dehydrators can still work when they are first purchased, but later they continue to malfunction. (Clamp cylinder: commonly known as the phenomenon where the specimen basket gets stuck outside the reagent cylinder due to inaccurate alignment when entering the reagent cylinder, and cannot be dehydrated normally. This is because the reagents used in the dehydrator are mainly volatile reagents such as alcohol. After dehydration, only alcohol is present in the sample. Once it gets stuck outside, the alcohol will evaporate, and if the alcohol evaporates, the sample will be scrapped, resulting in damage to the specimen tissue.) 3、 Reagent cylinder heating: Generally, the tissue dehydrator is divided into a reagent cylinder section and a paraffin cylinder section. The paraffin cylinder is heated, while the reagent cylinder is generally not heated. When the ambient temperature is low in winter, the dehydration effect is greatly affected. At this time, heating the reagent tank to about 40 ℃ can achieve better dehydration effect. In addition, heating the reagent tank appropriately can also improve the dehydration speed, so it is best to have a heating function in the reagent tank section. But the 8th and 9th cylinders should not be heated. These two cylinders are generally filled with xylene, which is carcinogenic. Heating up will increase the volatility of xylene and further increase its carcinogenicity. (There are currently some environmentally friendly reagents that replace xylene, but the general effect is not as good as xylene.)

4、 Specimen safety protection. The dehydrator should have automatic specimen safety protection function to avoid unnecessary medical disputes.

5、 Air purification. The environmental performance of the dehydrator and the physical health of the staff must also be considered. The use of plastic covers is only a conceptual environmental protection, and harmful gases are blocked inside the dehydrator. When opened, the concentration of gas leakage is stronger, causing greater damage to the staff's body and having little effect.
